Live challenge 01 · SACOMA × University of East London · Innocentive
Low-carbon food systems need a shared place to think.
Design a human-centred software platform that enables farmers, food producers, manufacturers, researchers, policymakers and consumers to collaborate on healthier, lower-carbon food products.

The need
One system.
Many interests.
No shared view.
Food systems face interlocking pressures: diet-related ill health, greenhouse-gas emissions, fragmented supply chains and unequal value distribution. SACOMA, in partnership with UEL, is seeking proposals for a collaborative platform that makes those relationships easier to understand and act upon.
The opportunity is not simply to create another database. It is to define how a software-as-a-service platform could support co-creation, trusted data exchange, lifecycle assessment and transparent collaboration across the global food value chain.
What a strong response
should make credible.
Participation
How different stakeholders enter, contribute, collaborate and benefit without excluding those with limited digital capacity.
Evidence
How data, lifecycle assessment and product-development evidence are gathered, governed and translated into useful decisions.
Value
Why users would return, how the platform could sustain itself and how healthier, lower-carbon outcomes would be demonstrated.
